Projects & jobs

Job and project management tied to the customer

A job is not a standalone task; it belongs to a customer with a history. Projects in ProPortalBusiness sit on the customer record, carry their own costs and notes, and roll up into invoices and reports.

Free plan: no card required. Pro: £1 per month for 3 months, then £29 per month — cancel anytime.

Every job on the right record

Create a project against a customer and it appears in their history alongside quotes, invoices and files. Six months later you can answer what was done, when, and what it cost.

  • Projects linked to the customer, not filed separately
  • Notes, files and costs kept with the job
  • Job history visible from the customer record

Costs and margin per job

Add materials, subcontractor payments and other costs to a project and see the margin rather than guessing from the invoice total. Costs can also be added while raising an invoice.

  • Record costs against the job as you go
  • Live profit preview when invoicing
  • Costs feed the profitability view

From booking to payment

Jobs can be scheduled in the calendar with email reminders to the customer, worked through, then invoiced from the same record without retyping details.

Common questions

Is this a full construction project management tool?
No. It is job and project tracking for small service businesses: scheduling, notes, costs, files and margin — not Gantt charts or resource planning.
Can I see whether a job made money?
Yes. Recorded costs are compared against invoiced revenue to show the margin on the job.
Do sole traders need projects?
Not always. In Sole Trader mode the workspace can be simplified so you work with customers and invoices only.
